Job Title: Church Organist

The pay is per event, $145.00 -200.00 a week based on events such as practice with choir and accompaniment.

Location: Annville Church of the Brethren, 495 Maple Street, Annville Pa Job Type: Part-Time, Number of Sundays a month negotiable.

Job Summary:

Annville Church of the Brethren is seeking a skilled and dedicated Church Organist to enrich our worship services through music and accompaniment of the choir. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for sacred music, strong organ-playing skills, willingness to play piano when needed and the ability to collaborate with the choir, worship team, and church leadership.

Responsibilities:

● Provide organ and piano music for Sunday worship service, special services (e.g., Christmas, Easter), and other church events.

● Accompany congregational singing, choir anthems, and soloists.

● Select and prepare and perform appropriate prelude, offertory, and postlude music.

● An ideal candidate would rehearse with the choir once a week in season. September through May.

● Report any maintenance needs of the organ.

Qualifications:

● Proficiency in playing the organ and piano.

● Familiarity with traditional and contemporary sacred music.

● Experience accompanying choirs and congregational singing.

● Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, choir directors, and church staff.

● A commitment to supporting the spiritual and worship life of the congregation
